Art Techniques Library

The National Art Foundation is building a growing Art Techniques Library where people can explore how art is created across many disciplines — painting, sculpture, crafts, ceramics, digital art and more.

People who are curious about art, or looking to find a creative direction that suits them, can use this library as a starting point to explore artistic techniques and methods used by practicing artists.

Members can discover practical techniques, learn new skills, and gain insight into how different materials and processes work in the hands of experienced creators.

This library is meant to be useful for everyone:

  • young people discovering art for the first time

  • adults exploring a new hobby

  • practicing artists looking to expand their skills

  • experienced creators sharing their knowledge

  • veterans and others seeking creative expression and focus

Whether someone is picking up a pencil for the first time or refining a craft developed over years, the goal is simple:

to make artistic knowledge accessible and shared within the NAF community.

Knowledge shared is knowledge preserved.

Members of the National Art Foundation can explore the full Techniques Library and contribute their own methods to help other artists learn and grow.
